9 grams of life: While you were away…

So it appears that I am back from my sabbatical. Although I missed chopping it up here at LZ, I did make the most of my time away. No, I didn’t go to the Galapagos Islands (hopefully that will be the plan for Spring), but I did indulge in a few of my favorite things, captured for your viewing pleasure on Instagram:

|1.| All dolled up to be a guest on the KISS 104 Atlanta Jennifer Keitt Show for an on-air DIY Beauty Spa Party. I shared some of my fave DIY recipes, and weighed in on interesting and controversial matters of beauty. More on the whole experience here!   |2.| Beauty treats weren’t the only thing I mixed up while away. I also made refreshing mojitos using homegrown (my home, that is) mint.   |3.| So yeah, I spent more than a little bit of time in the kitchen garden. That’s an eggplant in progress.  |4.| The Mister, Honey, Cricket and I enjoyed many a Sunday morning brunch. That’s us going for a riverside walk after getting our full eat on.

|5.| And more breakfast—my protein-packed blue cheese and bacon skillet with extra strong Colombian coffee just before hosting…  |6.| …Honey’s 10th birthday slumber party. A good time was had by all, and no one got hurt. Well, at least not seriously hurt.  |7.| And more gardening.   |8.| Cricket and Honey at the playground, trying to impress me with their death-defying swinging prowess.  |9.| The plan was to read Anna Karenina, but I got sidetracked and sucked into the 50 Shades Trilogy. It was like eating potato chips. The salty, empty calories are hard to resist, and so you allow yourself just a small taste. But before you know it, you’ve finished the entire bag. And yet, you wonder why you’re sick to your stomach and ashamed of yourself. What can I say? I’ve always had a thing for those somewhat off, but well-intentioned stalker types (I mean that in the most loving way possible, hubby).

Anyhoo, it’s good to be back!
